I am so late with this reminder this month!

We’ll be drinking and knitting summer style at the Spotted Dick (map) this friday, July 11th from about 6pm to about midnight.

There has also been talk of a second Drunken Knit night in July, since several of us (including myself!) are out of town for the first one. If you are interested join the discussion over here or send me an email at notanartist.blog (at) gmail (dot) com.

And finally, the time has come to close this blog. The Ravelry and Facebook groups do a better job of notifying people of upcoming pub nights and allow everyone to share in the discussion and share photos and stories. If you're not interested in joining either of these social networking sites, you can email me at notanartist.blog (at) gmail (dot) com and I will add you to the monthly reminder email list too!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!

This month's pub night has been bumped to Friday June 20th at the Spotted Dick (MAP). Festivities will begin at around 6pm and continue into the night.

This June 13th is a special event at the Purple Purl instead, Knitty's June Roundtable, which is an amazing chance to try out a bunch of new yarns and win fun and exciting prizes! There are still spots left so run do not walk over to the official blog and sign up for June's date now!

Spring is finally arriving and I for one plan to celebrate by drinking and knitting.

I will sadly be missing it as we are off to a wedding in Vancouver next week, but I hope you all will take plenty of photos so I can drink/knit vicariously through all of you.

Stitch n' Pitch

The Toronto Blue Jays game on August 15th will feature a Stitch n' Pitch. You can buy tickets through the link, through Joan Kass at the DKC or through Julie at The Needle Emporium.
They are encouraging any and all of the needle arts - crocheting, cross stitch, embroidery, needle point and, of course, knitting. You don't have to love baseball to join in and make this a massive KIP display!! I'm sure that we'll get on the JumboTron & I'm sure that the television commentators won't be able to ignore what is sure to be the most fun-having section in the Dome.
Oh - and they have beers too.

What a perfect day for the first patio knitters knight!

Would it be possible to challenge y'all to take as many pictures as possible so that I can live vicariously though you? I'm going to be stuck in traffic on a highway heading in the direction of north instead of imbibing delicious cranberry and sodas with sips of your beers.

I'd love to see just how much fun patio knitting can be?

1. We have absolutely no idea where our purse is.
2. We believe that dancing with our arms overhead and wiggling our butt while yelling 'woo-hoo!' is truly the sexiest dance move around.
3. We've suddenly decided that we want to kick someone's ass and honestly believe we could do it too.
4. In our last trip to pee, we realize that we now look more like a homeless hooker than the goddess we were just four hours ago
5. We start crying and telling everyone we see that we love them sooooo much.
6. We get extremely excited and jump up and down every time a new song plays because 'oh my god! I love this song!'
7. We've found a deeper/spiritual side to the geek sitting next to us.
8. We've suddenly taken up smoking and become really good at it.
9. We yell at the bartender, who we believe cheated us by giving us just lemonade, but that's just because we can no longer taste the gin.
10. We think we are in bed, but our pillow feels strangely like the kitchen floor (or the mop?)
11. We fail to notice that the toilet lid's down when we sit on it.
12. We take our shoes off because we believe it's their fault that we're having problems walking straight.

Make them laugh at themselves .. Like you probably did....sadly, many are true!!
Of course none of this has EVER happened to us!

Lost pattern

Someone left a pattern behind at the table where I was sitting - the top right corner has "Criminy Jickets Garterlac Dishcloth" written on it in pen, but the pattern itself looks like either a sweater or a cardigan (there are instructions for the back, front and armholes on the page I have). Also folded inside this pattern is a "History of Fondue"...

If this is your pattern, email me at andrea dot eves at sympatico dot ca or cateyb at gmail dot com so I know who to give it back to *g* I should be at Lettuce Knit on Wed night as well, if it's easier for the owner to pick it up from me there :)

I've been informed that we have guests on Friday night, so I'll have to postpone meeting everyone until next month. Boo!

But right after Friday (on Saturday), Knit-o-matic is having a sale! I'll be there waiting for the store to open, and, frankly, you should be too. Haley's sale bin is one of my favourite places on a regular day, so I can't even imagine the goodies available on a really big sale day. Yay!

I am a new member here. Thanks to Jen for letting me join, even though she had no official proof that I am not a psycho. But I am not -- you can trust me.

For a very good reason that escapes me at the moment, I am spending a lot of my time and energy on a variety of charitable causes these days. And I am having so much fun, I want everyone else to join up as well. So you may find me occasionally posting requests for your knitting-related help. If you find it awfully annoying, please let me know, and I'll stop.

Today's announcement comes from the inimitable Ryan Kamstra at StreetKnit. The Parkdale Community Information Centre is looking for someone to teach kids/teens knitting next Thursday, March 1st at 5 pm, for one hour. They could also use donations of needles (they are all set for yarn). For more info or to help out, read the announcement. (I'd help out, but I work in Markham, and by the time I got to Parkdale, it would be bed-time.)

I hope to meet everyone in person on March 9!

Continuity of Care - Rules of the Game.

1. To keep life simple we are going to continue the tradition of Team Canada - that is, we plan on meeting the second Friday of every month.

If you can't make one, never fear the knitters will reconvene again on the second Friday of next month. It's like the March of the Penguins only we're real humans with real livers not anthropomorphized flightless waterfowl.

2. If you've found your way here and you weren't a part of Team Canada and you'd like to be a part of this blog email me at: jen_hendriks at hotmail dot com - Stalkers and assorted Psychos need not apply

3. Want to knit with other fun folks but you don't drink? Come and have a glass of water - you deserve it and besides, we will need someone to act as our collective memory.
